THE JAGABAN EFFECT: Hon. Kabiru Lawal Injects Business Capital to Empower Women in Gusau,Zamfara State.
In a targeted effort to boost local retail trade and secure household livelihoods at the community level, the KLM Foundation, driving the Jagaban Zamfara Women and Youth Empowerment Initiative, has disbursed dedicated business seed capital to women.
The intervention, envisioned and funded by Hon. Kabiru Lawal (Jagaban of Zamfara), aims to address financial exclusion by placing capital directly into the hands of petty traders, smallholder agriculturalists, and artisans. The targeted grants are structured as non-refundable seed money, aimed at enabling women to establish self-sustaining livelihoods, buffer their households against economic hardships, and actively contribute to the economic fabric of their respective communities.
The structural rollout, heavily driven by the Foundation’s specialized Women’s Wing, ensures that financial resources reach deeply into rural communities, By putting direct seed capital into the hands of local women, the initiative aims to dismantle barriers to retail commerce, boost household income security, and stimulate grassroots market economies facing tough macroeconomic conditions.
The KLM Foundation remains fiercely committed to leaving behind a legacy of accountability, inclusivity, and sustainable human capital development across Zamfara State.
